This piece is the result of some experimentation with texture, contrast, new tools, and new ideas. Trying out new ideas can be uncomfortable but it's the only sure way to expand your creative practice. I chose to use some beautiful black walnut with natural flaws. I see a tall, slender warrior when I look at this piece.
